The B7 bomber pilot's flight jacket, also known as the B7 parka, features:
Leather: Thick Australian sheepskin, 20mm long fur, 3mm thick leather;
Feel: Soft and supple;
Color: Vintage white;
Weight: Approximately 3.5 kg;
Zipper: Tylon;
Trimming: Brown horsehide;
Hood: Detachable;
Style: Mid-length;
Buttons: Raw horn buttons; The jacket contains 80 feet of leather, as Australian fur is expensive per foot.
Produced between 1941 and 1942, it was specifically issued to aircrew and aviation personnel working in cold regions. The B7 parka effectively protected against the harsh cold and blizzards of cold climates. Except for the large hood lined with animal fur, the B7 is made entirely of whole animal hides, making it particularly warm in cold and harsh regions. Due to the high manufacturing cost of the B7, especially during wartime, production of the B7 leather coat was reduced and the number issued was very small. The original B7 is extremely rare.
